Meiguan Expressway is the main road in the north-south direction of the central part of Shenzhen. It is a part of the ring expressway in the Pearl River Delta region in the Guangdong expressway network. Meiguan Expressway is connected to Huanggang Port in the south and Dongguan-Shenzhen Expressway in the north. It is one of the main land routes for cargo transportation between Hong Kong and Mainland China. Due to government repurchase, on April 1, 2014, the southern section of the Meiguan Expressway in Guanlan was released for free at a "zero" rate for passing traffic. The toll section of the Meiguan Expressway refers to the section from Shenzhen-Dongguan Expressway to Guanlan that still retains tolls.
